When a group of idealistic young men join the German Army during the Great War, they are assigned to the Western Front, where their patriotism is destroyed by the harsh realities of combat.
1937
At the end of the Great War, German soldiers return home to find the social fabric and civil order disintegrating as communist gangs roam the streets, and food and jobs become scarce. Riots and massacres lead the erstwhile average men to become cynical and desperate.
